Bluefin Solutions customer Barclays, awarded in the 2012 SAP Quality Awards EMEA

Following its recent 2012 SAP UKI Gold Quality Award, Bluefin Solutions customer Barclays was selected as the Bronze winner of the 2012 SAP Quality Award EMEA in the Small Implementation category.
SAP presents these awards annually to recognise customers across the EMEA region that have achieved excellent standards of quality management in their SAP projects and quickly delivered significant benefits to their organisations. The announcement was made last night at SAPPHIRE NOW + SAP TechEd, Madrid.
Local Gold Winners from a number of countries across EMEA were shortlisted to present their projects to an external, expert judging panel. Customer projects were judged against adherence to SAP's ten quality principles, demonstration of time to value and a focus of how quality excellence was achieved through the entire implementation cycle.
Project Xpensit
Barclays wanted to provide a secure, efficient method for employees to file and manage travel expense claims from their mobile devices at any time and from anywhere. Bluefin Solutions built and implemented a mobile expenses application using SAP Sybase Unwired Platform ensuring close integration with the existing back end, SAP HR travel and expenses system. The pilot was to 300 iPhone and iPad users, with the intention of rolling out to 22,000 mobile users over the next 2 years.
The completed project fully supports its initial objectives; delivering 30% time saving whilst enabling administrative activities during previously unproductive time and achieving overall improvement of compliance, resulting in fewer lost receipts and more regular submissions.
