James Appleby

James is Bluefin's Chief Executive and a founding Director

James worked as a consultant for 10 years before founding Bluefin, and prior to that as an engineer. His experience has focused on Performance Management and SAP, and he has led large teams delivering innovative solutions around the world including global data warehouses, portals, and SAP solutions.

In addition to his role as Chief Executive, James advises Bluefin customers in two key areas:

  • Performance Management Solutions (such as the Balanced Scorecard) and how customers can use them to implement their strategy more effectively
  • SAP's Current Technology Products Suite: how customers' current business problems can (or cannot) be solved using SAP.

Dan Hawker

Dan is a founding Director of Bluefin and a Client Partner. He is also responsible for Bluefin's Voice of the Customer programme.

Through Voice of the Customer, Dan ensures the views of our customers feed directly through to the Leadership team. This is a clear demonstration of one of Bluefin’s core values - Customer Focus.

As Client Partner, Dan looks after clients in industries such as manufacturing, transportation, logistics and telecoms. He is in charge of all aspects of the relationship, from initial engagement through to delivery and ongoing support. He holds firm that honesty and integrity are key to the enduring success of client relationships and account for Bluefin’s excellent reputation amongst it's client base.

Dan has over 14 years experience in SAP consulting. He started his career as an SAP logistics, procurement and finance consultant. He then specialised in SAP BI and Planning before becoming a Client Partner.

Philippa Holland

Philippa is Bluefin's Chief Operations Officer (COO) and a founding Director

Philippa has over eight years experience of SAP consulting across a wide range of solutions and technologies including BW, SEM, CRM, Portals and Workflow.

She advises Bluefin's clients on technology strategies for BI, CRM, SEM and Workflow, and acts as programme director on major Bluefin engagements. She also shares her experience by regularly running best practice workshops at Bluefin clients, with a particular emphasis on SAP BW design and implementation, where her experience of 10 full lifecycles makes her a recognised expert.

Philippa has responsibility for Bluefin's operations and leads a strong office-based team.

Mike Curl

Mike is Bluefin's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a founding Director

Mike has over ten years consultancy experience covering a huge range of technologies and industries. Working extensively with SAP technologies for the last seven years, Mike has become a respected Solutions Architect, assisting organisations with their SAP strategies and global implementations.

Mike has also implemented a variety of other CRM and data warehousing technologies which gives him an all round perspective, not just a SAP one.

Michael Eldridge

Michael is Bluefin's Commercial Director.

As Commercial Director, Michael’s role is to drive Bluefin Solutions ambitious business growth and maintain the excellence and quality service Bluefin delivers. 

Michael is responsible for the integrated sales and marketing team, strategy and sales delivery.

Michael joined Bluefin in 2005 and set up its CRM Capability, now recognised as the largest and leading SAP CRM Partner practice.  This was built on the back a successful career in IT and business consulting working for leading, global management consultancy firms.

Michael believes that to meet the ambition Bluefin milestones, the business must continue to build and deliver a service envied by its competitors, demonstrating excellence, distinctive quality, client empathy and understanding of industry challenges and how SAP technology can be imaginatively applied to solve real business problems.

Mark Buchanan

Mark is Bluefin's Support Director with responsibility for the development, growth and success of Bluefin’s Support Services business.

Mark has been the visionary and mastermind in building Bluefin’s Support Service business, taking it from a locally based operation to a global business now operating across multiple continents and time zones.  Key to this success has been a strict focus on maintaining customer service levels and quality of support delivery.

As a recognised leader and specialist in near-shore and off-shore operations, Mark is working with customers and partners helping to develop and advising on IT strategies, outsourcing and business transformation to drive the best return for customer investments.  He has ownership and management responsibility for the Support Service P&L, customer service, delivery and business development with the ambition as being recognised as the global market leader for SAP Support.
