When you join a consultancy company there is a danger that you can spend all your time on a client site and there you don't feel as much of a part of the company. The following list gives an idea of some of the regular events run by Bluefin to ensure everyone at whatever level or role within the company is part of the 'Bluefin Community'. Golden FridaysOn the third Friday of every month we encourage all project teams to work from either our Liverpool or London offices. This gives people the opportunity to knowledge share between teams and participate in lunchtime training sessions. These vary each month based on suggestions and cover a wide range of topics. Quarterly Company meetingsOnce a quarter we run a company meeting to which the whole company is invited, the format varies each time although always includes company updates. They regularly contain interactive sessions as well to get employees input, for example in one meeting we had workshops to define how mentoring should work and the scheme was created based on this session. Finally the company meetings have a social aspect as well, the opportunity to catch up with colleagues in a relaxed setting is a very important part of the day! Regular newsletters and email updatesOur newsletters and email updates are designed to let people know what projects are going on and any other general company news. All projects contribute to the newsletter and it often contains internal updates not to mention the odd marriage and birth announcement! Social clubsBluefin has active social clubs both in the north and south which organise regular events. These have included diverse activities such as rock climbing, go-karting, a trip to a comedy club or just dinner and a few drinks. Membership is subsidised and activities decided by the members. Mentoring eventsMentoring is an important part of the Bluefin culture and mentor groups cross all areas of the company including internal, support and consulting not to mention from all our capability areas. Therefore they are an excellent opportunity to mix with different people from those you work with on a day to day basis. Summer and Christmas PartyOur Summer and Christmas parties are an opportunity to invite partners and family to join us so we can say thank you to them as well. |
