Making your SAP project a success Print E-mail
Written by Ian Curtis

In any project there is risk and the earlier this is identified, taken responsibility for and some sort of mitigation put in place the better the project is delivered.

SAP Projects run through an ASAP methodology following the five project phases listed below.

  • •    Project Preparation
  • •    Business Blueprint
  • •    Realisation
  • •    Final Preparation
  • •    Go-Live and Support

Typically risk is identified at each stage of the project, and it is always perceived as having impacted the project in the final phases. This is when the pressure is on to deliver to the agreed specifications, on time and on budget.

At Bluefin we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional projects and so as we grow we have learnt from these experiences and developed our methodology further. “The wheel does not need re-inventing but it does need to (r)evolve.” This does not mean in Bluefin projects that risk has been removed, what we are trying to do is identify it earlier.

Through the use of Nimbus Control we support our methodology and therefore provide a framework for our Client Partners, Project Managers and Consultants to follow during and beyond the project lifecycle. All of the company is aligned to these and all have access to Control to view the methodology. In this respect any changes to the methodology or suggestions are requested in Nimbus Control and once approved disseminate throughout Bluefin.
